Is there safe Binge Eating Sugar?

If you are binge eating it can result in many health complications, if it is sugar which you are bingeing a new study shows that it can literally shorten the lifespan. We received an email from a reader who describes herself as a “binger”, she drinks about 2 liters of soda per day whenever she is bingeing. Binge eating usually involves the consumption of many different foods but there are times when we simply crave an abundance of sugar.

Sugars have received a lot of negative attention lately and some of this bad press has actually not been fair, in moderation plain white sugar is very safe. There are many people who are consuming a tremendous amount of the natural sweeteners and it causing a tremendous amount of medical complications. Sugars are safe in limited quantities but once a person is consuming a lot of sugar it affects the brain, heart, liver and even speeds the ageing process. A New study from The University of California study reveals the stunning way that sugars speed the aging process and causes wrinkling of the skin. The shorter your telomere, the harder it is for a cell to regenerate, this is why some people age faster than others, the new study shows sugars actually speed up the aging process.

Study Author

“We think we can get away with drinking lots of soda as long as we are not gaining weight, but this suggests that there is an invisible pathway that leads to accelerated aging, regardless of weight,”   said psychiatry professor Elissa Epel, Senior researcher.

It is clear that binge eating sugar damages the cells of the body, all bingeing is causes by an emotional experience which triggers the need to binge. Often there are hidden emotional experiences which trigger a brain response to consume a mass amount of food; this may have been formed in childhood or adulthood.

There is good news, researchers have shown that you can have your sugar and eat it too, a diet for bingers is now used in over 10 countries, it allows bingers to eat what they like while de-activating the brain trigger to binge.

Help for Binge Eating Recipe

Binge eating is an addiction, those who try to control binging with will power eventually discover that they will not be able to success; this is due to brain functioning. There are literally millions of people who battle the inability to control the appetite, the root causes of this condition resides in the brain. Help for binge eating is accomplished when the brain triggers are de-activated with targeted foods.

The combination of foods to stop binging

The brain is a very delicate organ which is very susceptible to hormone activity; the appetite is completely controlled by hormones. Researchers have shown that trying to eat less does not work to control appetite, what does work is using food to de-active the desire to eat.

One food which has the ability to calm the appetite without causing weight gain is nuts, science shows that nuts give the brain the feeling of being full (satisfy).  There is a recipe which has been used successfully by people on the food addiction diet; the recipe is shown to stop cravings.  Help for binge eating is possible when the brain stops triggering the response to eat.

A special recipe

  1. ½ cup of milk
  2. ½ cup of Strawberries
  3. 1 ounce of any nuts
  4. ½ cup of water

Use a blender and mix all the ingredients together

The reason why this recipe has been so successful is because of the fact that the nuts are clinically shown to stop cravings, the fat in nuts do not cause weight gain.

This is just one of the recipes which are used in the food addiction diet to stop cravings.

Help for a very secret eating disorder

We received an email from a woman who lives with a very secret eating disorder, the young woman suffers from a private battle with binge eating and food addiction; this is a problem that effects many millions of people according to statistics from the World Health Organization. The inability to control appetite is an embarrassment for many but science says that an eating disorder is not your fault, almost all binge eating is connected to an emotional stress either past or present.

The brain,mood and appetite

Did you know that stress in some way is always a factor contributing to excessive appetite?
Researchers at the Laboratory of Neuroendocrinology revealed that stressful events secretly contribute to brain changes which trigger appetite. This research showed how events in your life contribute to hyper-appetite. The Study concluded that

High reactors ate significantly more sweet food across days. Increases in negative mood in response to the stressors were also significantly related to greater food consumption. These results suggest that psychophysiological response to stress may influence subsequent eating behavior. Over time, these alterations could impact both weight and health”

What is crucial to this study is that often people are unaware that childhood(or adult) abuses, divorce or even a bad relationship with parents can create a problem with appetite. Studies in Germany showed that depression or school stress contributed greatly to food addiction in young adults. Often eating disorders are held in secret due to shame, sadly people blame themselves for overeating when it is in fact other issues which cause the problem. The study from Laboratory of Neuroendocrinology made it very clear that a person can suffer very serious health problems for various eating disorders.

Do not live with it

Addressing an issue with food is essential for your emotional and physical well being, it is crucial to address the issue to avoid a deeper addiction. Will power does not stop food addictions! The hormones cortisol and leptin contribute to brain changes which create urges to consume large amounts of food. Millions of people live stressed or depressed lives and have no idea that they are depressed or stressed.

Regardless of whether you are aware of the causes of your eating disorder or not the fact still remains that the issue does exist and must be addressed to avoid serious health consequences

The failure of Will power

Will power is no match for a powerful emotional brain trigger causing an urge to overeat, only a diet created for food cravings was ever shown to stop the brain triggers naturally, people were allowed to eat what they wanted and still deactivated the cravings. This worked in over 10 countries naturally over thousands.
